Medication Policies
- Medication Policy Refills: During your course of treatment, you may be prescribed medications. It is your responsibility as the patient to notify your provider if you need a refill at your scheduled appointment. If you are overdue for a follow-up, or missed your last scheduled follow-up, we will require an appointment prior to refilling medications. Failure to show or frequently cancelling your appointments at which your medications would be refilled, without rescheduling, is considered non-compliance with our office policies and you may be dismissed from the practice. Please use the patient portal or call the nurse regarding medications, refills, and concerns, which will then be discussed with the provider. We require 72 hours advance notice for refill requests. This is necessary as our nurse practitioners do not work every day, sometimes medications require prior authorization from your insurance, sometimes medications are out of stock, ect. It is the responsibility of the patient to allow adequate time for us to process refill requests. Controlled substances: (including, but not limited to, Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, etc.) will be prescribed by your provider at their discretion. Providers are under no obligation to continue a patient on a medication started by a previous provider. • The provider has the right to refuse to prescribe controlled or non-controlled drugs at any time for any reason. • The provider has the right to request a UDS and/or pill count at any time for any reason. • Controlled drugs will not be replaced if they are damaged, lost or stolen.
