Alpha Ministries Reach Rescue & Restore is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Shepherdsville, KY. With a mission to provide a haven of hope, healing, and spiritual growth, the organization supports men who are struggling with substance addiction and related life-challenges.

Definition of Abstinence: Abstinence at Alpha Ministries means completely avoiding all mood-altering substances, including alcohol, illegal drugs, and any misused prescription or over-the-counter medications. Residents must remain fully sober at all times, both on-site and off-site. This includes: • No alcohol • No illicit drugs • No prescription medication misuse • No vaping THC or CBD products • No synthetic or “legal high” substances • No possession of paraphernalia Abstinence also means committing to a lifestyle of recovery, honesty, accountability, and making choices that support long-term sobriety.

Prescription Medication Policy Details
  • Medication Policy Alpha Ministries Reach, Rescue & Restore is a drug- and alcohol-free recovery program. All medications brought into the residence must be declared, verified, and approved by staff prior to admission. 1. Approved Medications ● Residents may only take medications that are prescribed to them personally and are non-narcotic. ● No controlled substances or medications containing narcotics, habit-forming substances, or mind-altering chemicals are allowed. ● Over-the-counter (OTC) medications must be approved by staff before use and stored according to program procedures. 2. Medication Storage and Administration ● All medications are to be stored in the designated, secure area by Alpha Ministries staff. ● Residents are not permitted to keep medications in their rooms or on their person unless specifically approved for life-sustaining purposes (e.g., inhaler, EpiPen, insulin). ● Staff will document, dispense, or supervise self-administration of medication as appropriate. 3. Medication Changes ● Any new prescriptions or medication changes must be reported to staff immediately. ● Residents must provide updated prescription documentation for all changes. 4. Prohibited Medications ● Narcotic pain medications (opioids), benzodiazepines, barbiturates, medical marijuana/THC products and any habit-forming or mood-altering medications are strictly prohibited. ● MAT/MOUD: Alpha Ministries does not support the use of MAT/MOUD medications such as Suboxone, Methadone, or similar drugs. Applicants requiring MAT will be referred to programs that can support those needs. Alpha Ministries focuses on faith-based, abstinence-based recovery. ● Staff will provide residents with a list of approved medications upon request. 5. Non-Compliance ● Failure to report, properly store, or comply with the medication policy may result in: ● Immediate confiscation of the medication ● Loss of privileges or program dismissal By signing the Intake Packet Consent & Acknowledgement Form, the resident confirms they understand and agree to abide by the Medication Policy.
