SMART Clinic at UK Department of Psychiatry
About
At the SMART Clinic, we provide innovative and comprehensive addiction treatment and trauma-informed psychiatric services to people that have substance use disorders who may also have co-occurring disorders. We do this in an outpatient healthcare setting where they can also get their primary care needs met. We offer a variety of different services that include medication for opioid use disorders. We also offer psychiatric care for folks who have other mental health disorders in addition to their substance use disorders. We offer a SMART parenting track for postpartum women. For our MOUD track, sessions are scheduled weekly at the start, and then move into less frequent visits over time (every other week, monthly, quarterly). **We offer services via telehealth. We email you a HIPAA compliant, easy to use link to log into your appointment with our providers.** The clinic specializes in working with individuals who also experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, have a history of trauma or other mental health concerns. Individual therapy, psychiatric medication management, peer support, and case management are provided. The SMART program foundation is values based recovery, with the understanding that recovery is an ongoing process. The providers are caring and supportive, and our goal is to help anyone in recovery live the life they want to live. The clinic is separate from the general Psychiatry clinic, offering privacy and easy access to treatment.
